Miss Puny Puss & Pets on Quilts
I thought I might take a moment and introduce my quilting pal. She is the ever lovable, Miss Puny Puss from The Spencer Ranch in beautiful Etna, CA. Her Highness is part Absynian, and thinks she is the cat's meow. She is named Puny Puss because she was the runt of her litter, and even has a kink in the end of her tale from being squished in Mommy's tummy.
I am finishing a quilt for daughter, Amber. Guess who is helping me get it all together? Miss Puny Puss is a pest! Could she possibly think she's napping with friends? Who knows what goes on in a cat's brain, which happens to be the same size as a horse. (scary thought)
I made the mistake of keeping kitty treats upstairs in my quilting studio... She thinks it a grand idea, I think it a grand nuisance! But, she needs the pampering. Miss Puny Puss is an old girl now, 16! She doesn't bring as many lizards or birds into the house anymore. She prefers to be waited on... give her nice juicy raw chicken, shrimp, or fish. She begs with such dignity.
She always seems to be right where I want to work... cutting area, sewing table, ironing board. But, now I've solved my problem... I found an old pillow that one of my first grade students gave her years ago. Will she crawl on it to sleep??? You've got to be kidding! What planet are you from? Since when did any cat do what we want them to do? :-)

What a sweetie! I bet you are glad she doesn't bring lizards into the house anymore! I bet Miss Puny Puss crawled right up on the old pillow once you put the camera away!

Miss Puny Puss! What a darling name! She looks like quite the little sweetie!
ReplyDeleteShe's wonderful. That first picture she looks so regal and laying on the quilt she does look like she wants to be one of the cats. Beautiful, thank you.
ReplyDeleteMiss Puny Puss is sew sophisticated! I always wanted an Aby, but decided they are too "busy", so Annabella the Ragdoll is perfect. I'll bet Miss Puny Puss is fun to have around :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Puny Puss. You look very regal. Keep your mistress on her toes...what is she thinking constricting you to a corner. giggles
ReplyDeleteShe's so petite and cute! And what a good helper too..
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Jennifer :)
so cute...
ReplyDeleteWhat a dignified 'elder' lady! I made my cat her own quilt - HA - not a chance. I hope you have the pleasure of her company for more years.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful. I love her colouring.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's quilt is awesome. Thanks for sharing Princess Puny with us!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful old girl. Why should she restrict herself to one old pillow when there must be so many beautiful quilts to experience! Gotta love cat attitude.
ReplyDeleteCool Cat! So cats like quilts too! Love the cat quilt too!
ReplyDeleteOoo! I'm loving my quilt. My Shirley will also love it.
ReplyDeleteAww She is very striking. And I've had cats all my life but never knew the horse-brain size thing! That's interesting, indeed!
ReplyDeleteYou have got a great helper there!! haha

She is a beauty. Looks like she's ready to give you a hand.
ReplyDeleteShe is a very special friend not to bring you lizards any longer. :)
ReplyDeleteShe is very pretty. I got a peek at the stork quilt she is sitting on. I also love your header picture.
ReplyDeleteI have a soft spot for the runts. Miss Puny Puss looks like she went from runt to royal highness - she's lovely.
ReplyDeleteI can see who is the boss in your sewing room! She might have been the runt of the litter, but she looks quite regal now!
ReplyDeleteShe is a lovely cat...she looks like she is queen of all she surveys!
ReplyDeleteI almost thought that was a kitten in the middle of the quilt! Great idea. Miss Puny probably does think she's among friends on that quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, she's sure a beauty!
ReplyDeleteHer highness deserves treat in the sewing room as she has to work so hard!
ReplyDeleteOh she is gorgeous! I love the photo of her on the quilt - she looks like she is appliqued on!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie. And such a big helper :-)
ReplyDeleteMiss Puny Puss is lovely - but I fully understand what you mean by them being a pain! HA HA, but we love them anyways don't we.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Carolyn
I will be sure not to make the mistake of keeping cat treats in the quilting area, lol!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty gal she is! That is a very lovely quilt you are making for your daughter!
ReplyDeleteLove that kitty and that quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteMiss PP is so lovely! Our senior pets are such treasures :) Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cat. Abyssian's are so majestic.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know a kitten could get a kinked tail that way. What a special girl you have, cat treats in the quilt studio made me smile. I thought of going that at one time, but they never made it there...
ReplyDeleteshe is so regal in that first photo :)
ReplyDeleteTypical kitty, fur sure. She knows how to find just the right fabric to compliment her, of course!
